(Luis) Summary
Diabetes Youth Families (DYF) is an organization in Southern California that hosts camping events annually for children and young adults (younger than 18) that live with Type 1 diabetes. Their main goal is to comfort members about their diabetes and inform them about their condition to teach them to live with it. The DYF believes that putting children with similar problems together makes a comfortable environment that is safe for them.
I RECOMMEND IT
Diabetes Youth Families is a very special non-profit organization due to the fact that more than 85 percent of expenses are spent on the program so it can exist as an expense-free camp to reach out to the most children in California that have to live with type 1 diabetes. Ever since it opened in 1938, the amount of children have attended has grown from about 10-100 per year to 1,500+! It never goes over the limit for expenses due to their high net assets, which means for more years of camp to come.
